Crafting a respectful and personalised funeral service.
About
Prior to training as a Funeral Celebrant I taught for 30+ years in Yorkshire and in the Arabian Gulf. I was a Head of Early Years and most recently was Head of Pastoral in a large Primary School. As teaching became more paper bound I realised that I needed to use my “people skills” to do something more personalised which would make a difference.
I was inspired to train as a celebrant at a close friend’s funeral. The service was a true reflection of his personality; respectful solemnity, his 'joie de vivre' and humour were all present. Comfort was given to his family and friends by the service. After I delivered the eulogy, the funeral director suggested I might think about celebrancy in a conversation following the service. My motivation is to support the bereaved at one of their most difficult times.
As your celebrant I will work tirelessly with you to craft a funeral which is a true reflection of the person it celebrates. I will incorporate the ideas you have for music and readings or I will happily guide your choices to create a unique ceremony for your loved one. The ceremony will be crafted with care and compassion, a memorable service you will recall with warmth as you remember your loved one.
